And the most beautiful part is, it’s super cheap. If you can’t find a piece of plywood in somebody’s garage for free, Lowe’s or Menards will have them for less than $5. You will also need chalkboard paint (this guy will stick to anything… even a mirror!) ($11 at Menards)…
… a brush(about $10, but your dad/friend/neighbor might let you borrow one:)). It’s best to use a roller brush – the paint will go on smoother and it will take you all of 3 minutes to apply one coat!
… and a frame. You can go as creative as you can with this one. The price will depend on your choice. Or, how about that mirror you don’t want any more? I picked a simple black 16×24 frame at Menards ($17).
And chalk is only $1 at Walgreens.
You will need to apply 2 coats of paint with 4 hours in between coats. If you don’t have a paint pan and don’t want to buy one, use one of those plastic lids from your bins. You can wash it later, the paint comes off very easily, I promise.
Here is my guy
I definitely like the way the chalkboard looks in my kitchen. What do you all think?
