Natty Chandeliers

Ever since I saw this fabulous house tour on Apartment Therapy, I can’t seem to stop fantasizing about 2 things: breakfast nooks and chandeliers. Our current house doesn’t allow for a decent dining room, let alone a separately standing breakfast nook. But in my future house… (imagine me saying this as my gaze wonders somewhere far-far away… like JD’s as he dives into yet another one of his daydreams in Scrubs)

* I hope my husband doesn’t read this post, because the words “future house” cause a full-blown Pavlov’s conditional reflex in him. Saliva Rolled eyes, and all. He doesn’t think our attic can handle any more stuff that will go into our future house. Amateur!

I can just imagine having my own slice of heaven by a sunlit window, with a plush white shag, a white round table, antique chairs, and … a crystal chandelier! A steaming latte in one hand and a home decor magazine in the other. Look at this amazing picture and tell me you don’t start salivating?

I wouldn’t mind having a chandelier in my bedroom, instead of this boob light we currently have. How natty is this bedroom?

I understand that these beautiful babies are expensive, but hello, there is always IKEA… IKEA to the rescue.

You can buy this beauty for only $39.99. Quite affordable, no?

There are plenty of chandelier stencils. I can just see my posh teenage daughter having one of these on a wall of her magenta bedroom. (Only I don’t have a teenage daughter… or any kind of daughter. It’s JD in me talking.)

Me likey… I need to go wipe off my drool now.

  1. I can’t believe chandeliers are becoming popular again. I used to dislike them, but in the interior above they do look beautiful! The only problem I think is cleaning, I remember my granny taking a chandalier to pieces for cleaning and failing to put it back together – LOL. Anyway…I love the idea!

    • Haha:) I totally remember my grandma doing the same. It always took forever to clean those and put them back together. But they were always so beautiful. I’m glad they are coming back:)

  4. A couple of years ago I seriously thought about replacing my old chandelier in the bedroom to a crystal chandelier! Honestly, I think about it so far … And even considered this IKEA chandelier as an option. But then I’ve decided this one is not shiny enough! :) So I’m still searching my ideal pick!

  5. Good luck! Knowing how populer these are getting, you will find something soon. Whish bedroom are you putting it in? Yours or where G and I stayed when we visited?

  6. Thanks! I’m planning to put it in my lovely pink-hearted bedroom! (But first of all I need to get rid of the desk in pink bedroom… Mission impossible…)
Green one where you and Greg stayed is a little bit ascetic for pendant crystals, isn’t it?
