I have finally resolved my front door dilemma. The project took quite a bit of time, but in the end, it was all worth it. Besides, the rainy yucky weather we had yesterday wasn’t suitable for anything else. So, without further ado, here it is.
I wish I could take credit for this idea, but I totally stole it from here (the website has easy to follow steps for making this curtain.)
The longest part was tracing and cutting circles. I used… um… a candle to trace those. I’m sure there is an easier way to do this, but this way is cheaper.
Here are a few more pictures:
I really like this curtain, mostly because it doesn’t make our living room appear darker. You can still see outside, but it feels more comfortable knowing you are “covered”. I love it!
All right, fire away. What do you think? Do you love it? Do you hate it? Or is it meh?

I love it and It totally fits your home!! Yeah
Thanks girlie. Hope you don’t get disappointed when you see it in person on Wed:)
P.S. I payed less then $10 for the fabric at walmart. Pretty darn cheap!
Wonderful, Lenchik! You room looks sooo fresh and inviting. Love the new pillow case by the way! Great Job!
Thanks, Dinchik:) I just wish you could come visit and see it in person! Maybe???
That’s fantastic! Love, love, love it! Now, how did you sew them together? It looks like it’s just with one thread or something??
Aww, thanks, Sarah. I sewed them lengthwise AND across. I first tried just lengthwise, but it looked a little messy. So I did it across as well. If you walk by our house, you are more them welcome to stop by and see it in person:)
I love it too)
Len, I’m impressed! You did a great job! And you’ve got a great patience: to cut, to combine pieces, to sew… And you’re right – it’s worth it!
I think you did a great job. I will have to go to the other site to check it out. I know my youngest daughter would love a project like that one.
I followed you over from Mrs. Cummings.
Yay! Thank you.
And welcome, I hope you come back:)
LOVE IT!! It reminds me of those beach weddings…
Lena- girl, you are patient! I’d drive myself nuts with all that tracing & cutting. I made my own window curtains from a shower curtain once (if you wanna peek check it out here:http://fisilis.wordpress.com/2011/03/07/curtain-call/)
I don’t have a sewing machine, so yeah, it was interesting.
Looks fab.

Yep, def took some patience! But… I just can’t stop when I start something! I HAVE to finish it.
Thanks for stopping by, Mindy!
