Celebrate Kate

As I’m sure you all know, Friday is the Royal Wedding. If you didn’t know this, you must have been hiding under a rock for the past 6 months. As I was running this morning and watching the news, I couldn’t help but realize the craze that has come over people because of this wedding, I mean this is even bigger than Justing Bieber and Twilight combined! Yes I get it, this is history after all. And doesn’t every girl dream of becoming a princess? So more power to ya William and Kate!

Some friends and I have been planning a party for a while and we pretty much have deemed it “the super bowl for women”. We plan on watching cheesy girl movies the night before and eating lots of traditional British snack foods and then waking up early for tea and scones for the actual event. I am so excited, for nothing else but some serious girl time!

Okay, lets talk food…My husband J was studying in England before we were married, and for spring break one year I went over for a visit. We traveled all around the U.K. and pretty much ate the entire time… It was super fun! We ate at a cafe in Oxford one morning and little did I know my life would be changed forever because… this is where I discovered scones and clotted cream! If you have never had clotted cream (it takes a bit of time to make) but it is pretty much heavenly, especially paired with a little bit of jam on a scone! Anyway, I thought I would share with y’all my favorite recipes in case you were hosting a party of your own…

Favorite #1: Sour Cream Scones

Favorite #2: Clotted Cream

I hope you enjoy! More DIY posts to come from me as soon as I can 1)get my camera fixed or 2) have Lena come and take pics for me… Until then God save the Queen!

  1. I’m getting excited about the princess movie night. Not sure about the morning tea and scones. I won’t get up at 5 am even if you hold a gun to my head! Even if RPatz was in the neighborhood… Well, maybe for the last one…
