One of the greatest things about having this blog is that I get to have conversations about home decor with others. I love getting inspired by other people’s thoughts and projects, brainstorm ideas, and often steal those ideas:) I love sharing the acquired knowledge and creativity with you and hopefully I give proper credit to the creators.
One of those creators is Mindy, who, via Facebook, shared with me some genius and cheap ideas on how to give a space some color. She kindly let me feature her projects on this blog so you all can get inspired as well.
So here you go…
(I’ll let Mindy do the “talking”:))
I bought two picture frames and one cork board from the thrift store (Saturdays at the Ark a ton of stuff is 50% off so I scored these three for under 5 bucks). I browsed the fabric section of the thrift store and found these pieces. You could use placemats (Target has some fun ones), a fun patterned sheet, a fun patterned dress or scarf from the thrift store, really anything… if you find a print you like use it).
I then cut the fabric leaving enough room to wrap the frames like a Christmas present. I pulled the fabric as tight as I could and then used duct tape… yep, duct tape to stick the fabric to the back. You could do this with one huge cork board as a wall art piece, or you could do a cluster of however many of these you want. And if you want to change up the color scheme in a room, just pull duct tape off and switch out the fabric. I think this whole project cost me 10 bucks.
Enjoy.
