Pinterest helped me define my style

Part of my morning routine this summer includes: snoozing, shutting off my alarm, and getting on Pinterest from my phone (and staying there until hubby comes and kicks me out of bed). Today I made an interesting observation. I was looking through my Bedroom Love board and noticed that almost all of my bedroom inspiration pictures, although pinned at different times and from different websites, have a LOT in common. Apparently, I have a very defined opinion of what I want my bedroom to look like. And I had NO idea. (Yet another reason you should sing up for Pinterest.)

Please look at some of the pictures from my board and see if you can find 10 differences :-)

Light and spacious? – check

White bedding? – check

Pops of color? – check

Bits of shabby chic here and there? – check

And of course, a chandelier? – check, check, check…

Am I boring and predictable? Or just a victim of peer pressure (this look does seem to be popular in blogosphere!)?

Also, why is it that with all of these wonderful pictures to inspire me my bedroom still looks like this?

Not alright… I need to do something about this.

I will, just as soon as I finish my other zillion projects… Don’t tell my husband about this post, unless you want to be wiping foam from his mouth!

Have you made any startling discoveries lately that will surely change your world?

  1. This is sooo true, Lench. I love pinterest. It’s sooo helpful when you want some change but have no idea what exactly needed. I’ve found lots of wonderful diy, decor and storage ideas for my small place. And they are all at the same place so you don’t have to search your computer trying to remember where you saved that desk idea. Thanks for sharing!!! Mmma
