Bah-bye, classy glass-top, see you when I’m 50.
Hello, simplicity.
We finally got our new dining set. It’s all assembled and found itself a nice spot in the newly (almost)rearranged living room.
I want to repaint this set eventually, I just don’t think I can take this project on right now. So I simply decided to reupholster the chairs, just to breath some fresh air and lighten up the mood into the grouch. I found some cheerful fabric at a local sewing store and put it right over the black leather. You can call me lazy, but when I spill something on the chair, I’ll be the last to laugh.
About one hour and one thousand staples later :
ta-daaaah
And my favorite before and after:
The set looks so fresh, I love it. It adds color and coziness to our living room… You know I will be eating, reading, and typing blogs from this very location. Plus, I get to enjoy our lake view.
As you can see, I got carried away with the green a little bit… I just couldn’t contain myself…
(So I just plopped the left-over fabric on the table, so it looks a little raggedy… I promise I made a decent place mat out of this, I’ll share that one later.)
What thinks you? Would you want to come and have dinner with us? We promise to sit you on the chair facing the lake

Natty Tip of the Day:
If you want to prevent mustiness in your stacks of towels and sheets,
place an open box of baking soda alongside.

Love this, dear! So fresh and fun. And I just LOVE your blog and read it every day. It’s one of my favorites, and at my age I’m still getting new tips to try. Bravo, Lena!
Barb, you are so sweet. Thank you so much for reading and for being so encouraging. It means a lot!!!

New chairs look awesome!!! You are so handy! Bravo! My mom use to tell me that I have 2 left hands and all the DYI classes in school did not pay up either.
You are too funny, Ariana. I’m sure you were a wiz at writing though

This looks so good! I love the green fabric and I’ve been on a green kick myself lately. It’s just so cheerful. I would totally come over for dinner! I wish I had a lake outside my window!
The lake makes all the difference… Hubby and I sometimes joke that if we didn’t have a lake in our front yard, we wouldn’t have any friends… Hehe…

Everything is fantastic: the dining set, the fabric and of course the fabulous lake view! Len, you’re very gifted!
P.S. I’d love to have dinner!
Thanks, friend… Next summer I will make you the best dinner EVER!!! And even breakfast. YOu just have to get here!

Thank you! But I’m afraid even to hope…
Great work, love the table and LOVE the fabric. Maybe we’ll swing by for a meal at that table in, oh… how about middle of August?
Can’t freakin’ wait… Or you can just drop off Audrey and go about your business… I will just cuddle with her on the lawn:)
LOVE this makeover!!! I was going to change my theme to this new one also, super cute!

Mindy, go for it… It’s really cute!
That’s Amy Butler fabric! Love it! Wish I was there enjoying it!
Cal, we sure missed you! It was a fun weekend!
Super cool Lench! I love reupholsterng chairs – it changes the look in minutes. What color are you planning to paint the set finally? I can’t wait to see the entire room remodel, especially the spot where the old dining set was.
Din, I’m not sure yet… I want the table white or off-white, and maybe different color chairs… But it will have to wait, maybe even till next summer.
