My sweet in-laws gave us many beautiful starter furniture pieces when we moved into our house… FOUR years ago. As time has moved along most pieces have either moved onto Craigslist heaven or have been repurposed in someway. Everything that is but a “lovely” brass floor lamp which has been tucked away in our guest room all this time.

I called upon our creative blogger friend Cali @ Home Awaits for some ideas other than the obvious paint and new lamp shade. She was a wealth of blogger idea knowledge and before you knew it, I was off to Home Depot + Hobby Lobby to get my supplies for frosting glass!
FIRST. Tape the top and bottom of the glass with painters tape and spray paint the lamp. I selected a nice silver color.
SECOND. Remove the tape from the bottom of the glass and secure stencil. With my glass being round, I cut my stencil to fit and then taped. (This was the trickiest part of my project, but I think if you are frosting any other item, the stencil step should be VERY easy)
THIRD. Using frosting spraying paint, apply a few coats to glass. I applied two or three coats to get an even look. { Applying the frosting paint to the underneath side of the glass will ensure that it is not easily scratched off with use }
FOURTH. Allow time for paint to dry and remove stencil.
I am now cRaZy for frosting glass and can’t wait to frost everything within reach!! What will you frost?
enjoy, amy

So awesome, Amy. Love it. Did you do anything with the lamp shade?
I was so excited about frosting the glass, that I had to post it right away. I do plan to do something to the lamp shade though…
OOOH! Love this!
