Yesterday was one of those days. Do you know what I mean? Not only did I give a presentation to a group of people who could’ve cared less if I would have fallen through the floor… but I got flipped off driving home.
It was one of those days.
It rained today. It rained like all day today. It was cold and rainy and humid…
Cold+rainy+humid=Kirby’s hair acting like a two year old in the doughnut section of Walmart…
It threw a fit to say the least.
It was one of those days in that I wished that I had something fun/fancy/simple/classy/trendy to do with my temper tantrum, doughnut loving, terrible-two type of hair.
Do you know what I’m talking about? Am I alone in this?
Well, if your shaking your head and hollering “Amen” as you read this, then you’re in luck my friends… My super fun/fancy/simple/classy/trendy friends had a headband making party the other night. I had to miss it but I sent my camera with them with simple instructions: document everything… so here’s the scoop…
Here’s what you need: Felt, headbands, buttons, hot glue
Start off by drawing a flower on a sheet of paper then tracing the flower onto the felt
Next, cut out the felt flower. Repeat process three more times… Look at Brittany’s focus… impressive. Really.
Next, place a small dot in the center of each flower and fold it in half… Look at her fingernail polish. My sister-in-law has awesome style!
Have you ever folded the bottom of a cardboard box? You know you fold it to interlock together so nothing falls out the bottom? Well do this with your flowers until it looks like this…
Place a small dot of hot glue in the middle of all of your flowers for a pretty little touch.. See the button in the middle? So pretty and feminine…
Go ahead and hot glue your flower onto the headband and try it on.. word to the wise: wait until the hot glue dries, unless you want it permanently affixed to your head.
If you’re a little confused by my not-so-specific directions, click here for the original link and tutorial. It’s a bit more in depth… and when I say “a bit more” I mean quite a bit more! And when I say “quite a bit more” I mean that this blog makes my mouth water. So what I’m really saying is check out the original post. It rocks!
I want to thank Mallery for taking such awesome pics of the projects.. and Elisabetha and Brittany for being such great Vanna White’s. She would be so proud. I’m going to make me one of these oh-so-simple-but-classy headbands this weekend. And. I. Can’t. Wait.
Also coming up this weekend, holiday baking galore. I’ll try and space out the recipes so that I don’t overload you with them and make you never want to come back. So check out the girls creativity.. had to give them a little Natty spotlight… don’t you just love globes? They’re good for so much more than finding Turkministan.
Happy Friday! T.G.I.F!
