First off, let me say that we have had the most wonderful winter here in Northern Indiana. This past weekend was the only time that I have been seriously miserable. And it was my own fault. I should know not to go out for a long run in 18 degree weather with a nasty windchill. Duh.
Now that I have gotten that off of my chest, let me tell you that there is no one in our little bitty town that is more ready for summer than I am. I resisted the urge today to pull out all of my summer wardrobe and replace the heavy, bulky, warm sweaters in my closet with the light, bright, airy dresses.
I’m craving June.
I was looking back through pictures of this summer… the bright, warm sun, tan skin, wasting the day on the lake, all day porch socials, bike rides to the ice cream shop, laying in the park for hours upon end, reveling in my flip-flop tan… these are the days that I live for. I am so over winter.
This has nothing to do with my post for today.
That being said… I am semi-obsessed with and have to spotlight these spectacular natural products. Why natural? I don’t like parabens, that’s why.
I’m always in the market for new products. I pick some up here and there, tried different ones at friends houses and even been given a box full of some of my total faves (shout out to you Mallery!)…
I have tried many a product but here… here are the winners… my top 5 fave picks…
#5. Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Pore Scrub… I seriously can’t get enough of this. It deep cleans without over drying, plus it’s paraben free! Woohoo… just make sure you don’t get any of the little beads in your eye… you’ll sit in your all employee meeting and cry like you’re watching Bambi for the first time… you’ll look a hot mess with mascara running down your face when they call on you to stand up in front of everyone. You’ll spend the entire day clawing at your eyeball but not being able to see the little pest… speaking hypothetically of course. Just trust me, don’t get one of these suckers in your eye!
#4. Kiss My Face Aloe Vera Whitening Gel… I have tried and tried natural toothpastes and they all taste worse than soapy tree bark. On my long lost search for an awesome tasting toothpaste that is also certified organic, I stumbled upon this lil tube. You see…I have a problem… in Biology class a few years back, we did an experiment and I found out that I’m a super-taster… meaning that I taste things A LOT stronger than some other people… this would explain why I hated brushing my teeth when I was little… not because I enjoyed the grossness of my “teeth wearing sweaters” as the in-laws call it, but because toothpaste burned my tongue so badly. This toothpaste keeps my mouth fresh, tastes awesome and doesn’t overpower my tastebuds… check please!
.
#3. Yes to Cucumber Body Wash… or really, anything “Yes to” brand. They have Yes to Tomatoes… Blueberries, Carrots and Cucumbers. If you haven’t heard of this company, check ‘em out. I especially LOVE this body wash because it’s light, smells delicious and is 99.8% natural… more to come later on this brand.

#2. Neutrogena Naturals Lip Balm… “I just can’t get enough.. ooo.. I just can’t get enough”… this lil puppy goes everywhere with me… if I’m planning on wearing color on my lips, I use this as a base layer and then add the color on top… if I’m going al naturale, then I just stick to this stuff, plain and simple. Odds are that if you see me, I am wearing this. Get you some. Your lips need it.

#1. And my number one pick… [insert drum roll]… Jason (I don’t know how to do the two little dots over the O in Jason…) Tea Tree Oil Deodorant Stick….there are no words for how much I adore this product. I seriously can’t live without it. I have tried everything in natural deodorant… from the deodorant crystal to deodorant sticks and powder… nothing has worked all day in keeping me smelling fresh like this one. I will be buying copious amounts of it until I die. We have that kind of bond now. It works ALL day long in keeping me from smelling like a hot mess… and the amazing thing… IT’S ALUMINUM FREE!! Best. Find. Ever. I’m excited just talking about it.

So there you have it. An insiders peak into my life… it’s pathetic how excited I get about personal care products.
You should see me rave about school supplies!

So along with the note about school supplies… One of the best lines from “you’ve got mail” is ” I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils”. Wishing it was summer too!
hahah I LOVE that line… and that movie! I hope you’re enjoying Portland. Can’t wait to hear all about it!
