Speaking of… yesterday I had a meeting at work and I told THE corniest, lamest joke EVER….

I was nervous okay? It was like I had an out of body experience and I could see myself prepping to tell this joke, and I was screaming at myself, “KIRBY, DON’T DO IT! STEP AWAY FROM THE JOKE YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS FOUND IN AN OLD JOKE BOOK ON THE WAY TO COLORADO FOR A SKI TRIP! IT WASN’T FUNNY THEN AND IT DEFINITELY WON’T BE NOW!”

Embarrassingly enough, I told it… no worries though, it doesn’t really matter what you say up here in the Midwest… as long as you say it in a Southern accent people think you are the bees knees…

I have something to share with you and don’t worry, it’s not a joke. I fully acknowledge that I am not Jerry Seinfeld… or Dave Chappell… not even that tall skinny guy from Who’s Line is it Anyway?  

This is David Dunn. He is a musician from Texas… (shout out for a fellow Texan…whoot whoot!)

I actually grew up in the same town as David and went to school with his younger two siblings.

Let me tell you, their ENTIRE family is talented. I wanted to be a Dunn so bad so that all of their talent/good looks/funness/lovability/etc. would rub off on me.

Clearly nothing rubbed off on me… I still tell stupid jokes and run around my office balancing my briefcase on my belt.

Yes, that happened yesterday too.

I blame it on the sun. I haven’t seen it in a while.

Anyway, David was on The Voice this past week and did AMAZINGLY! I mean, I was hella-impressed. You can check out his time on the show here. Even though he wasn’t picked (spoiler), you definitely will be seeing more of him. He’s too incredibly talented for this to be the last we see of him.

His music is poppy and soulful… and totally upbeat. It’s great for taking a long drive with the windows down. Or sitting at your desk trying to be mega-productive. I especially love it when I’m attempting to come up with new recipes in the kitchen… or typing up blog posts at 6:30 in the morning while drinking decaf…
