Sandlot and S’more Pie

I’m going to write a movie one day.

This movie shall be about kids playing baseball one long, hot summer. There will be a boy who just moved to the neighborhood and is a bit of an outcast. He’ll be a little nerdy and awkward and have one totally adorkable long brimmed hat.

In this movie, there will be a scene that unfolds like this…

Chubby-cheeked red head: “Hey Smalls, you wanna s’more?”

Adorkable, Awkward Smalls: “Some more of what?”

Red head: “No, do you wanna s’more?”

Smalls: “I haven’t had anything yet, so how can I have some more of nothing?”

Chunkster: “You’re killin’ me Smalls!”

Okay, okay….so my idea is unoriginal. Yes, I know there is already a movie called Sandlot with this very same premise and scene.

In all reality, I just love this scene because we’ve all been there. I still get confused when people start talking about s’mores.

Speaking of s’mores…

I made s’more pie last weekend.

I may or may not have walked around having a conversation with myself the ENTIRE time I baked it…

“Hey Kirby, you wanna s’more?” “Some more of what??” “No, do you wanna s’more?” “But I haven’t had anything yet…” “You’re killing me Smalls!”

When you use ingredients like cream cheese, hot fudge, and butter… no one cares if you talk to yourself a little bit… as long as you keep churning  out things like this…

Lets just take a second and soak up how delicious this looks….

It was a recipe inspired by my mother-in-law. She makes something similar to this so I decided to tweak it and make it my own.

Here’s what you need:

Graham crackers, hot fudge topping, cream cheese, whipped topping, butter, and hot fudge pudding (not shown).

I started off by making the graham cracker crust…. crush (or food process) the graham crackers with melted butter. Then press them down so they are nice and firm in the bottom of your dish then bake at 350 for about 10 min or until fragerant…

Pretty much from here it’s just layering on the goodies… I did pudding, cream cheese, hot fudge, whipped topping and finally hot fudge…

Feel free to experiment how you will.

Pop it in the refrigerator until your ready to serve.

It’s best with a cup of hot coffee. The bitter coffee balances out the delicious and super rich taste.

Just sayin’.

Make s’more pie this week. Your friends will never look at you the same.
